STS Universal Kit Installation Pictures

Due to the overwhelming success of the STS Universal Turbo System with our STS Power Dealers, we have finally packaged our Universal System to offer as a 'non-exclusive' product for installation shops and the general public. For all those would be turbocharger owners who own a vehicle that a turbo system is not available for, here is your answer. The STS Universal Turbo System comes complete with everything that you need to be able to 'Remote Mount' a turbocharger on virtually any vehicle. The Patented STS oiling system allows the turbocharger to be mounted in any area of the vehicle without worrying about the oil drainback from the turbo to the engine. Universal Kits do NOT include intake or exhaust tubing so fabrication of the exhaust and intake plumbing to and from the turbocharger is required.
The turbocharger can be mounted anywhere but is typically placed under the vehicle so running the exhaust to and from the turbocharger (depending on your design) is as simple as replacing a muffler and can be done by any competent exhaust shop. Once the turbo has been installed in the exhaust system, the intake tubing can be fabricated to run from the compressor outlet up to the throttle body. In most cases, the intake tubing acts as a linear intercooler and will provide 40-50% intercooer efficiency with almost zero pressure drop if designed properly. If you are looking for optimal horsepower per pound of boost, adding a front mounted intercooler to your remote mounted turbo system will provide 90% to nearly100% intercooling efficiency.
Once the intake and exhaust system has been completed, you can tap into your engine's oil pressure system (typically a T style fitting at the oil pressure sending unit) and route the pressurized oil to the turbocharger through the supplied stainless steel line. The STS oil pump can be mounted between the turbocharger and the engine and will return the oil from the turbocharger back to the engine. With the oil pump returning the oil, no need for drilling the pan is necessary. The oil can simply be returned to the valve cover. Connect the 3 electrical terminals on the self contained oiling system wiring harness and route the oil system warning buzzer into the cab and you have turbocharged your vehicle. The only thing left is to ensure that the fuel system is adequate for the new boosted horsepower and making sure that the vehicle is tuned properly for boost. This project can be as simple or as elaborate as you desire to make it. Bottom line is that YOU BUILT IT!
(Note: The STS Universal Turbo System does require fabrication and is NOT a bolt-on turbo kit.)
